The Hinsdale South High School Cross Country teams... 

The hornets opened their seasons strongly at their first invite; the Hornet Red Devil Invitational at Katherine Legge Park!  On all levels competed well and top ten finishes on the varisty and freshman levels were made by Meagan DeSalvo (varsity-9th), Matt Longoria (freshman-8th), and Jessie Mutters (frosh).

The guys were as calm as can be... 

 Hornets Meagan and Matt DeSalvo enjoyed the atmoshere of the race and both received personal honors with Matt becoming the race champion!

The teams both competed at the Minooka Flight race where the varsity boys and girls lined up together on the line! 

Both teams qualified to sectionals after a muddy regional at Lyons Township!  Unfortunately, the seasons as teams were ended at the muddy sectional that took place at Lockport.  Meagan DeSalvo was the sole Hinsdale South state qualifier.  The Hornets are excited for a better season to come in the following year!

State was extremely hot compared to the previous years, but all competitors did amazing! 

 The Girls competed stongly at the West Suburban Gold Conference meet which won them the place of 2nd behind DGS and 4 all conference positions!  Meagan DeSalvo earned the title of Conference Champion!  Congrats girls on a successful day!!!

The DeSalvos were the top Hinsdale finishers of the day on the varsity level!

The male hornets were not 100% strong at conference with many of the top runners out with injuries, but they still managed a 2nd place team finish.  Don DeSalvo was the top hornet finisher with a fourth place finish!  Congrats guys! 

Meagan DeSalvo competes at the class 3A state meet in Peoria and finishes with a time of 18:32 taking 63rd. Deirdre Rudolph and other hornets came down to support Meagan and watch the race!

Both the boys and girls teams completed very successful seasons and are looking for better things to come with there young, yet talented teams! 

2009 Hinsdale South Girls Reavis Invite 3rd Place and later became the 2009 Niles West Invite Champs!
